Dissapointed...

In myself.. that is. I have gained 3.6lbs. I havn't been to the gym since last week, and I havn't drank my water and I've been eating crappy. I have no one to blame but myself. But, I did get a nice comment today. A girl I work with asked if I had been losing weight, and that she could really see a difference. I think that was the boost I needed. I am going to try harder. I will do this. It may just take more time..

Update for Weigh Day

I know I am a little late on posting this. I am at 205.6lbs as of Friday! That is 2lbs down since last weigh day. I am getting back into things, however slowly it may be. I am so freaking close to onderland, I can't wait! It is very late and I need to post more so I will make it up hopefully tomorrow!

Two days in a row.. I'm on a roll

I got to the gym again today. I even closed at work, got off and 9pm and went to the gym at 9:30pm. I just got back at 10:20pm. I did a lot of cardio because I did legs and arms yesterday. I think I am going to use my massage gift certificate soon. I really need one, my back is achey. Tomorrow I work from 8am-1pm. After work I will probably come home, have lunch, change, and head to the gym. I have to remember to take Pip with me. He is going to be neutered tomorrow (thank goodness).

I also need to remember to weigh myself tomorrow too lol.

Update on Weigh Day and Official Halloween Weight

On Weigh Day, I weighed in at 207.6lbs. Not good, but certainly not bad. That means that while I was on my cycle and being bad about eating, I didn't gain any weight. Granted I didn't lose any, but I didn't gain! As far as my Official Halloween Weight, drumroll please.........205.4lbs! I definitly didn't make goal, but I did lose 2.2lbs since yesterday lol. I think I was retaining a lot of water from being on my cycle. So now I will have to reformulate my next goal for Thanksgiving. I think I'll set that for being my deadline to get below 200lbs. If I reach that goal before then, I will reformulate it again.

Anyway, tomorrow is my weigh day. I don't know how it will turn out. I can't really blame anyone but myself if I have gained or maintained. I am hopefully going to get back to the gym tomorrow.I think I am almost off of my cycle.

I will get everything on track tomorrow. I will get up and have a good breakfast, got to work, go to the gym, drink plenty of water, have a good lunch and a good dinner. I will NOT give up!

Tonight's Biggest Loser was a TEARJERKER!

I havn't cried for a biggest loser as much as I did tonight! Wow. Abby went home tonight. I also found out that both of her children and her husband were killed 2 years ago by a guy driving over 100 miles/hour. Holy crap. I can not imagine losing every thing I love all at once like she did. If you didn't catch the episode tonight, you need to look it up when they post it on the internets.

Anyway, I have been really bad today. I will have no one to blame but myself if I gain this week. Mom is right, we need to get each other back on track. I still havn't gone to the gym. I am going to wait until I am off of my cycle. I will be a lot more comfortable going if I wait until then.

I am so excited to get my new phone! I am really hoping that it gets here tomorrow! I will post an unboxing and pics of my old phone so you can see the shitty shape it was in lol. I won't tell you what I'm gettig. You'll have to wait and see!!!

OWIE!!!

I am felling like crap today. I started my cycle this morning and it is bad so far. The cramps are killing me. Pamprin hasn't done very much for me either. So all in all I am feeling very... BLAH. I just want to lay around and not move lol. I am just trying to drink some water and eat at least half way decent.

I decided yesterday that I will lay off of the scale for a little while. I am getting frustrated when I weigh every day, so I am just going to weigh on Fridays, my weigh day.

Vic and I get to order our new phones tomorrow. We have Verizon and they do the 'new every two' years thing. We are both pretty excited, I just hope that it doesn't take forever for them to get here lol.

Its getting closer and closer to Halloween. That means, for those of us who are interested in the paranormal, they have a lot of cool stuff on TV. Right now I'm watching a program called Ghost Stories.

Today I am finally going back to work. I spent the morning playing Warhammer 40k with Vic. We didn't get to finish, so we're going to pick it back up tonight. I'm hoping it isn't terribly busy at work tonight. It is a Saturday, but who knows, it could be really slow or super busy. I just hope I don't have to close with a certain person. One thing that really sucks is that I am not going to be able to go to the gym today or tomorrow. It will close at 8pm tonight and it is open from 12-6pm tomorrow and I work from 1-7pm. Blast!

Well, at least its a loss since last weigh day. A .6lb loss to be exact. So that is OK. It didn't stay the same and I didn't gain. Today I did get up early and I went to the gym. I did 25 minutes on the elliptical and I did the lower body machines. I have also drank a lot of water today. My eating hasn't been super great, but not horrible. Here is the list of food I ate today in order of consumption:

bowl of raisin bran w/ whole milk
a few slices of turkey lunch meat w/ mustard
ice cream sandwich
2 turkey burgers with turkey bacon and mex cheese
ice cream sandwich
bowl of blueberry mini wheats w/ skim milk

So not terrible as far as calories maybe, but not very great as far as what I got out of some of it.

PUMPING MYSELF UP!!!

I feel like I am in a rut. Not only with blogging but with the gym. I didn't go yesterday and I didn't go today. I am so bad! I also havn't been drinking my water like I used to. OK, you know what? That will all change tomorrow! I am going to get up first thing in the morning and go the the gym. I can also do that for Saturday and Sunday because I don't have to work till the evening on both of those days. I will also fill my Carrowinds cup, (holds a quart I think), a minimum of 3 times per day. I think if I go first thing, it will allow me to do whatever I want for the rest of the day without having to worry about making time to go to the gym. As far as eating I'm still doing pretty good.
  • Breakfast: bowl of raisin bran (unfortunately with whole milk because that is all we had)
  • Lunch: can of Progresso reduced sodium chicken and rice soup, peanut butter and jam sandwich on a sandwich thin, and some Breton crackers to go with the soup. I also finished off the last of the slim fast shake mix with some whole milk. 
  • Dinner: 2 Boca burgers and a cup of unsweetened applesauce.
I'm not concerned with how I've been eating. I think I have been gaining because I havn't been drinking water, and not going to the gym doesnt help. I can remember when I first started going that I was excited to go everyday. I just need to get that back. I need to win this contest between me and mom lol.

I havn't written a post this long in a while. I think I have been preoccupied with crap going on with finances. I hate money, don't you? It just complicates everything. *sigh* Oh well. I'm going to try to look past that. My attitude doesn't help me lose weight if its not a good one. I can do this! I am doing this! I've lost 12.4lbs since starting this blog, and I refuse to gain those back!!!!!!

 I think that gain is just water retention in my muscles because I actually worked them yesterday. I had a big fruit and yogurt smoothie this morning for breakfast. Since I havn't been at work for the past few days, I've been doing a lot of house work. It seems like laundry is a never ending cycle. I'm sure I'll have more to write about later..

Woot! Going back down! Unfortunately, I didn't go to the gym last night. *smacks self on hand* BAD GIRL! But, I have the next few days off and I have no excuse not to go. Plans for today include going to the gym, painting warhammer 40k models, laundry, dishes, etc.

Only 11 more days till Halloween. According to today's weight, I have 7.4lbs to go till I'm under 200. Mom and I made a bet to see who can lose more by Halloween. Whoever wins gets a $20 gift card to Ross.

*edit at 11:38pm* So I finally dragged myself to the gym!!! It was 10pm by the time I got there, but I went! I can definitely tell the difference it makes when I havn't gone for a few days. My heart rate got a lot higher that it used to when I was going every day. I'm supposed to keep it around 160 but it was getting up to 170-180.  I just need to get back into going everyday. I am definitely going to go earlier tomorrow so that I can be home for Ghost Hunters. I'm going to go after take out the dogs and eat breakfast.

Biggest Loser was pretty good tonight. I totally thought they would send Daniel home, but Dina was sent home instead.

Darn, I gained 2lbs! I think though, that it may be because I havn't been drinking my water as much as I should and we had dinner at Bob Evans last night. I feel like I'm slipping back into my old habits! I must not let that happen! I've been getting lazy as far as the gym too. I WILL GO TO THE GYM TODAY AT 7PM! I WILL CONTINUE TO EAT RIGHT AND DRINK MY WATER!!! I may not hit my mini goal at Halloween, but I will get as close as I possibly can!

Soup time!

Holy cow! Didn't expect that much of a drop in one day! I hope it stays that way. Anyway, I just finished putting togeather a soup because today is COLD! Fall is definately here. I chopped up tons of veggies and added all the ingredients into my croc pot and put it on High. I don't know yet how it will taste but it smells AWESOME. So here is the recipe if you are interested:

Cold Day Soup

Ingredients:
  • 3C Progresso reduced sodium chicken broth
  • 3C V8-low sodium
  • 1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2C fresh green beans, cut into 1.5" peices
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 1-1/2C baby carrots, chopped
  • 1 zucchini, chopped
  • 7 baby red potatoes with skin, chopped
  • 1/2 head of green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 can chickpeas, drained
  • 1 can no salt diced tomatoes (not drained)
  • 1 can light red kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can great northern beans, drained
Directions:
  • Place liquids, bay leaf, and onion soup mix in croc pot. Mix together. 
  • Chop and add all veggies and beans. Add to croc pot. 
  • Set croc pot to High. Place lid on top. 
  • Mix every so often. 
  • Its finished when the veggies are the texture you desire. 
I'm pretty excited about my soup. My hands smell so good from all the veggies. I filled up the croc pot so I will have a LOT of soup. Plus, I'll be the only one eating it because Vic doesn't like all the veggies lol.

I was very surprised to see that number when I stepped on the scale this morning. Thats a 1.6lb loss since last weigh day! I'm just glad its a loss. As far as food today I had 2 servings of slimfast shake for breakfast, and some raisen bran at lunch time. Not quite sure what I want to do for dinner. I think I'd really like to make some soup.

I had taken some measurments when I started this blog. I wrote them on a peice of paper and then I think they were thrown away. So, I took some more this evening and I luckily have something to compare them to.

Feeling blah..

Vic and I just got back from the gym. We weren't there for very long. We got onto the treadmill for 15 minutes. After that we both hit the bathroom and I started feeling bad. I'll spare you the details. Anyway we left shortly after that.

I don't really want to go to work tomorrow. I'm dreading weighing myself tomorrow too. I'm hoping that it was just water weight that I had gained. There is one thing that I am hoping will happen tomorrow... but thats something else completely. I am watching Ghost Hunters now. Yay.

Foods for today:
Breakfast-slimfast shake
Lunch-salad, soup, and a few breadsticks.. but thats ok, I didn't have very many calories today.
Snack-1 serving Cinnamon Life cereal
Dinner-baby carrots, 2 hardboiled eggs made up deviled egg style with a lot of mustard and a tiny bit of mayo mixed in the yolk, turkey/lettuce/mustard sandwhich on a sandwhich thin.
Dessert-fat free choc ice cream

WTF?!?!

That's what I said when I got on the scale this morning. WTF?! I'm just hoping that this pound gained is just water weight. I think Aunt Flo is going to be here soon. So maybe if I get plenty of water I won't hold much. I was planning on getting up at 6am this morning, but as soon as the alarm went off, I thought, "F@#$ that!" and set the alarm for 7am instead. So I did actually get up at 7, even though I didn't really wanna get up then either. I got to the gym by 8:30 and was there till about 10. When I got home, Vic had just woken up. We went to this hobby store in town and looked around. Now we're just hanging out. I think we are going to play some Warhammer 40K. I think we will have an early dinner and then head to the gym after that. Since I did all of the lower body machines this morning, I will just hop on the treadmill for at least 30 minutes, I hope. My plan for tomorrow, since I have work at 8am, is to get up around 5:30am (hopefully) and get to the gym around 6. Then leave by 7:30 for work. I think I get off at 4pm so I need to pack a lunch tomorrow too.

Crazy Episode of TBL!!!

Wow! I did NOT expect that. The teams were split from pairs to black and blue. Once again, Tracey won the temptation and got to choose the teams and their trainers. In the end, Black team lost more weight than the Blue team and Liz won immunity on the Blue team. I was sooo sure that Tracey would go home, until Coach Mo 'fell on the sword' as one of his teammates put it. So everyone voted for him and he went home. But, he ended up losing a total of some 70+lbs and hopes to be down to 150lbs by the finale. I must say though, that show is soo addictive and inspiring!

So I didn't end up going to the gym because our friends weren't going to go and we were going to go on a walk at 9pm. When I finally realized it was 9:38pm and the show wasn't over I felt soo stupid. TBL is on for two hours! Doh! So I didn't even get to go on a walk with them. So, I've decided that I am going to get my butt up early and go to the gym and kick my ass! Hopefully they'll want to go after they get off of work so that I will have two workouts tomorrow. Even though I didn't get to the gym, I still feel that I ate really well. Especially at Olive Garden! Thanks to TBL calorie count book that my mom gave me, I found out that the bowl of minestrone soup at OG is only 164 calories! I am really proud of myself for not ordering my usual zuppa toscana soup, It has lots of potato so I'm sure its carb heavy. *OK, I just looked up the nutritional info for Olive Garden on their website: http://www.olivegarden.com/menus/garden_fare/nutrition_information.asp According to this it says that the serving of soup I had was only 100 calories! It also says that the zuppa toscana has only 170!* I am proud that I only had a tiny bit of breadstick! I always normally eat one or two of those and I usually get a slice of the black tie mousse cake which has 760 calories per serving!!! But I was soo good and had 3 helpings of the salad and one bowl of soup and a tiny bit of breadstick. I drank tea sweetened with Splenda. I did eat the 4 after dinner andes mints, but that was only 105 calories. Next time though, I think I will skip those.

 Now I am watching a new show called Ghost Lab. So far its alright. Its definatley no Ghost Hunters, but not bad.

Nine pounds and 18 days to go! I've gotta make this goal!!!

Not much going on today. Vic and I went to Hobby Lobby and I got some new brushed and some paint. I really want to get back into painting.

Today's Food:
Breakfast-I scrambled two eggs and topped them with some ketchup, but I ended up spilling them so the dogs ate most of those lol. I also had about 1 cup of fruit smoothie, and some frosted mini wheat cereal.
Lunch-Lots of salad, a bowl of minestrone soup, and a small piece of breadstick at Olive Garden.
Dinner-Butterball turkey burger with swiss and colby jack cheese on top, an apple, and a slim fast shake.
Dessert: 1 cup of fat free chocolate ice cream.

We're going to the gym around 8 I think. Which sucks because we will miss Biggest Loser, UNLESS... I need to get some headphones.. They usually  have it playing on the TVs at the gym..

Getting back to the gym...

Today I will finally be getting back to the gym! Vic and I will be meeting my friend from work at the gym at 7pm. I am going to totally kick my ass today! I really need it.

So last night I decided to make up a bunch of plastic containers of measured out foods that I wrote the calories on. I think it will help me to count calories easier and I don't have to worry about being to tired or lazy to measure something out.

There are only 19 days until Halloween! My goal is not to miss a single day at the gym! I really want to be under 200 by then. I'm not sure if I will do it, but I sure will try!

Still going down! Not much going on. Can't wait to get back to the gym tomorrow. I tried greek yogurt for the first time this morning. It wasn't bad, just a lot thicker. But I have to go give all three dogs a bath, so I will write later if I can.

Dogs are all bathed. Poor guys got a bunch of fleas when we were visiting everyone. Anyway, food for today:
Breakfast: banana and Chobani strawberry greek yogurt
Lunch: frosted mini wheats cereal with skim milk, and a turkey burger with a little swiss and colby jack cheese on a sandwich thin.

Dinner will probably be a taco salad. Only 10lbs to go till I am under 200! woot. I'm not sure if I'll make it there by Halloween, but I will sure as hell try!

I'm also excited about getting a new cell phone. Vic and I have decided to go with the Blackberry Storm. Its a smartphone so I am definately going to get some apps for calorie counting and stuff like that if I can find any!

Its weigh day once again and I am very happy to report that I am down 2.2lbs since the last weigh day!

We'll be driving back home tomorrow. I keep thinking, 'The next time I see my friends and family, I will be soo much thinner and I can't wait for their reactions!' I may not see some of these people until Christmas or after! I know I'll probably see my mom around Thanksgiving. I am really wanting to move back, and Vic is going to try to get a job up here. I just have no idea when that will be.

Thrift store!

I <3 the thrift store. Vic and I are getting ready to go to one. I'm actually kinda surprised that I didn't gain more weight. I'm very glad that I'm still seeing the 210 at least!


Well we're back from the thrift store.. I got some nice cheap tank tops and a sweater. We also bought a couch and loveseat for $10 each! So we're going to store the couch in Vic's mom's garage and she is going to use the loveseat in her house until we moove back up here.

I am really wanting to count my calories! I am going to look for a calorie counting book to have with me if I am not at home or can't see nutritional info. I really NEED to start doing that. I think that if I start counting them again, I may lose more weight. I don't always feel that I am going to high, but I still may be eating too much.

El Burrito=Gordo! Yo soy muy mal!

If you do not know spanish, gordo=fat and yo soy muy mal=i am very bad. El Burrito is a mexican resturant here in my hometown. It is sooo yummy, but I know I overdid it :(. I got chicken nachos and a side of refried beans. The nachos are basically marinated chicken, melted cheese, sauteed onions and peppers, and corn chips. I'm sure the calories were insane. I'm hoping though that because I ate so few calories for breakfast and lunch, that it won't be too outrageous. BUT, if I do end up gaining weight because of it, I have no one to blame but myself. I could have gotten a salad, but I CHOSE to get the nachos. I at least recognize that I ate something that could make me gain weight and make my weight loss journey longer. I will try not to be so weak in the future. I think the thought process that went through my head was, 'I'm not in my home very often, so I should get my favorite thing here..' I am very glad that I talked myself out of dessert! I also realized that I was full but I kept eating. Yo soy muy mal! But I am determined to not let that happen again. I've dissapointed myself.

Breakfast: EAS protein shake, banana
Snack: gala apple
Lunch: roast beef sandwich, 2 pretzel rods, small handfull of peanut M&Ms
Snack: a few more peanut M&Ms

I need to stay away from the jar of peanut M&Ms that my mother-in-law has on her island in her kitchen! Every time I walk by I want to grab a few. I have at least been drinking my water and at dinner I had unsweetened tea that I put some sweet n low in.

I will be very surprised if I lose or maintain my current weight tomorrow.

 I am happy to report that I havn't gained any wait since we've been on our little trip. While we were staying with our friends and their parents, I wasn't exactly able to eat like I wanted to. I weighed myself this morning and I am at 210.2lbs. Now we're at Vic's mom's house. Hopefully I can do better here.

Had to go into work 3 hours early today :(. I still havn't packed for our trip. I really need to do that. I'm happy to see the number on the scale steadily going down! I'm taking the scale with me on our trip so that I can weigh myself everyday and on my official weigh day. If it keeps going down steadily like this then I'll be able to meet my Halloween goal no problem!

I'm not sure how often I'll have internet access and access to a computer, so I may not be posting much, but I am going to take a small notebook and write a little bit in it so I can recap the week when I come back.  I plan to take a bunch of pics so maybe I can post those too.

Hanging out...

Today was pretty chill after work. When I got home, Vic and I played an rpg on the computer. By the time we finished, the gym was closed. So no workout today, but its no big deal because I didn't have a lot of high calorie foods. I started the day with a banana and a protein shake. Lunch was another banana and a bowl of raisen bran. For dinner, we had a salad and fish. I did have another bowl of raisen bran as an evening snack and some grapes. I got this yogurt from the grocery store. It sounded pretty good, it was pumpkin pie falvor. Let me tell you, it was DISGUSTING! Yuck! It was kinda like plain flavor yogurt with a pumpkin pie spices.

We went to the thrift store a little while ago. I got a nice shirt that is practically brand new, it still had a 'M' sticker on it. THATS RIGHT! MEDIUM!!!! I got a MEDIUM shirt and it actually FIT! I also got a long-sleeved hooded jacket that seemed pretty new too. Vic got a fleece sweatshirt and a long-sleeved shirt. 

I don't think I'll be able to go to the gym tomorrow either. I go to work from 1-7pm, but the gym is only open from 12-6pm. I could go and do 30 minutes of cardio and then go to work, but I'd be sweaty and gross :(. I might just see if Vic wants to go to the dog park and we can just run around with the dogs.

Late..

Vic and I went out on a date night thingy. We ate at a resturant called O'Charlies. He had a three cheese bacon burger and I had the tortilla chicken salad. It was really good. It had red and green peppers, jalepenos, corn, onions, black beans, carrots, chicken, tortilla strips, and of course lettuce. It came with a spicey 'southwest ranch' that I barely used any of. I will admit that I was a bit naughty and had a chocolate milkshake. BUT, in my defense, they do make theirs with ice also, so there was less ice cream. After that we headed downtown for our movie. Before we got there, I got a call from my manager asking me to come into work tomorrow, of course. So to make a long story short, I ended up agreeing to work tomorrow morning, well this morning technically, at 7am-1pm. Vic is NOT happy about it. It was our only day together. I wish I hadn't answered the phone :(. Vic said that if I have to work tomorrow, then he doesn't want me to work on Monday, so we can leave earlier.

Anyway, the movie was pretty freaky. I'm tired and I'm mad at myself for agreeing to work tomorrow so early.

Woot! Another 1.6lbs down since my last "official" weigh in! I'm a bit nervous though about going to visit the fam and friends. The closest gym is too far out of the way to go to. I'm just going to have to get out and walk/jog.

Today I'm waiting for Vic to get home, then we'll probably eat then go to the gym. Then we're going to go see Orphan at the $2 movie theater.

As far as food today, I've had a pb&j sandwich and a banana for breakfast. I had a turkey bacon turkey burger with some cheese, and a few peanut butter filled pretzels. As far as dinner I'm not sure what we'll do.

*Phew! Just got back from the gym. Since I went alone today, Iworked my arms and did 20 minutes on the elliptical and 15 on the bike.

No work, again...

I'm starting to weigh myself everyday too lol. I don't think its a bad thing. I think it will allow me to see if there are things I need to change.

Yesterday I got another really great workout. I did a total of 40 minutes of cardio! We also did abs.

I'm really excited to go visit our friends. They are trying to move into this old plantation house, which they say is huge and supposedly haunted! I'm really hoping that we can go inside while we are there. I wish I had an EMF detector or a k-II meter and maybe an electronic voice recorder to do some EVPs. If we are able to go in I'll be sure to take a ton of pictures. If not then I can at least take some of the outside. Oooo.. this reminds me, Ghost Hunters comes on SyFy tonight! Woot!

No work today!

So yesterday, I think I got one of the best workouts. I went to the gym with my workout buddies and we first did the elliptical for about 18 minutes. Well, I did it for 18, they did it for like 14 or 15 lol. After that we moved to the upper body machines. I also went and did some crunches. I was only able to do 20 the first set and 15 the second. Then we got on the treadmill for about 10 minutes, and then the bike for 10 minutes.

Today is supposed to be cardio and abs day. I'm not sure when we'll go, because they said they'd rather go late in the evening. I think I may go sometime after lunch and at least do some cardio.

Next week we are going to visit friends and family. I probably won't be near a planet fitness to work out so I will just have to go on some walks and hopefully jog. I can also do crunches and stuff like that.

Yesterday I got myself some nice running/walking shoes. I also got myself some new socks because I was always using Victor's lol. I got some hair dye to fix my stupid hair. When we were on vacation, I tried to dye part of it blonde, but that didn't really work. So I'm just going to re-dye it brown.

I used to eat at least half of the pizzas if not more. So I'm really proud of myself that I only ate 1/3 of the pizza, and that was only about 270 calories!

Can we say DELICIOUS!

I have found my new FAVORITE burger. That turkey bacon turkey burger was the most delicious burger I have ever had! I have a picture and I'll post it as soon as I can. It was so yummy. The only thing I did was I grilled the turkey burger, I put a strip of turkey bacon on the bottom and put some finely shredded colby jack and swiss cheese on top of that. Then, before I took teh burger off the pan, I put some cheese on top of it and let it melt. That went on top of the bacon/cheese. then I put another slice of turkey bacon on top. HOLY CRAP! I will NEVER go back to beef hamburgers again!

OK I'm done with that lol. Today should be a pretty easy going day. The gym doesnt open until noon, so we have to wait till then to go. After that we'll probably go get the snake some food. Then probably just hang out. I'll have to wait until probably after 7pm to see if my workout buddies are up for a walk.

I sneaked a peak at my weight this morning and I'm happy to see that its still moving! It says I'm down another pound! I really hope I can make my Halloween goal! I so desprately want to see a '1' in front of my weight! I havn't seen that since I was in 8th grade.

Turkey bacon turkey burgers!

That is what I'm having for dinner tonight. A friend of ours is coming over for some gaming and I decided that hamburgers/turkeyburgers would be a quick and easy meal. I also got some colby jack and swiss chesse instead of the over processed american. Can you even consider that stuff cheese? As far as the other food I've eaten today, for breakfast I had a bowl of frosted mini wheats. Lunch was scrambled eggs and some turkey bacon. I've also snacked on a little bit of dry cereal and some mixed nuts.

Last night I was over at my friends' place and I told them about how I wanted to lose weight. They got really into it and said we should all do it together! So this is our joint workout schedule that we came up with:

  • Monday-Cardio/Upper Body
  • Tuesday-Cardio/Abs
  • Wednesday-Cardio+/Healthy Diner Night
  • Thursday-Cardio/Lower Body
  • Friday/Sat./Sun.: These are days when we aren't sure of scheduling, and the gym has weird hours. We opted to meet up for walks and do home workouts. 
It is really motivating to have more people doing this with me.

Weigh Day!

Drum roll please! My weight this morning was 213.6! That is another 1.6lbs down! I know Its a little more than when I weighed myself at the beginning of the week, but I figure I'm starting to build muscle from going to the gym and etc. So thats a total of 6.4lbs since I started this blog. Woot! Only 63.6lbs to go lol.

So when Vic gets home, we are hopefully going to at least go and do some cardio. He is complaining that his arms are very sore from exercising lol.

Workout!

WOW! Today at the gym I sweated more than I ever have! I did the leg machines today then hit the elliptical for 20 minutes and then the bike for 10 minutes. I can definitely feel it in my arms from yesterday. Here is what my exercise plan is going to be:

  • Sunday-Legs/30mins. Cardio
  • Monday-Arms/30mins. Cardio
  • Tuesday-Rest
  • Wednesday-Arms/30mins. Cardio
  • Thursday-Legs/30mins. Cardio
  • Friday-Arms/30mins. Cardio

Unfortunately, we won't be playing D&D this weekend :(. We won't even be able to play next weekend. The in-laws have plans. I guess Vic and I will just find something to do.

Keeping it a secret...

I have decided that I'm not going to tell any other family or riends, other than those who already know, that I am trying to lose weight. I don't have to worry too terribly much about a lot of family seeing me while I'm losing because they all live out of state. At work I have decided that I am just going to wear my baggy clothes and keep my smock on so that no one can really tell. Then by Christmas when I've made a good bit of progress, I can wear something nice at the Christmas party. I am sooo PUMPED and motivated!!! I havn't been this motivated ever! I am just so ready to get this weight off. I will not waste the money that is going into this gym membership. I actually like going. It sucks while you are doing the exercise, but I feel awesome afterwards. I am still amazed that I was able to do 30 minutes on the elliptical today. Approximately 22lbs ago, I could barely do 10 minutes!

Right now we are watching Ghost Hunters. I LOVE that show! I am really interested in the paranormal. That is just one of the many sides of my geekiness.

Speaking of geekiness, I really hope that we'll be going to my bro-in-laws this weekend. I really want to play some D&D. I'm having withdrawls!

I'm gonna be sore tomorrow...

Just got back from the gym with Vic. We did the weight machines that worked out arms and then we did 10 minutes on the elliptical and 10 minutes on the bike. At the end we were sweating our butts off. Vic didn't realize how out of shape he was lol. We tried using the body fat calculator thingy on Vic but it gave an error message LOL! He has like 1% body fat lolz. Anyway, after we were done we each had a bottle of Muscle Milk, the chocolate flavor. Not very yummy :(. I prefer the Slimfast even though they don't have as much protein. Still don't know what I'm gonna do for dinner. I think I may make some eggs and turkey bacon or even eat up some of the left over chili. Well we'll see...

Sweat baby, sweat baby!

I just got back from the gym. When I got there they gave me my card and asked what size t-shirt I wanted. I thought, well a large would probably fit, but I opted for a medium instead. It will give me something to work into. I had already had an account with them previously so they didn't bother giving me the tour lol. Since Vic and I are supposed to go together tonight, I just did 30 minutes of cardio on the elliptical and a 5 minute cool down. Before I left, I used their little thingy that measures your body fat percentage. It said that I am currently at 34.7% body fat, and that 74lbs of my weight is fat. I googled healthy body fat percentages and this is what I found:

20-30yrs
Below  21%
21 - 33%
33 - 39%
over 39%

According to this I am considered "overweight" and I agree. I want to try to get to the low end of the healthy range. Maybe between 21-25%. But we'll see. 

I did have to run to the thrift store to get some half-way decent shoes, and these were all they had, so I got them. They're better than what I had atleast.

...to get up and exercise! I got another membership to Planet Fitness and this time I'm going to use it! This time I actually got their black card member ship. This means I can bring one guest per day, so Victor said he'd go with me sometimes. Not that he has anything to lose, lol, but he said he'd like to tone up and build some muscle. It will still be really nice to have him to go with. I'll also be able to go with a few different friends from work because they have memberships too. With the upgraded membership, I even get to use the message chairs, tanning beds, and I get half priced cooler drinks.

That is what the scale said this morning. I know its not Friday yet, but I just wanted to see how I was doing. I won't be putting that as an official weight, but it is a 2.6lb loss since last Friday! Thats a total of 5lbs lost so far! I'm getting closer and closer to being under 200lbs! I'm so excited to get there. The last time I was trying to lose weight, I got down to 205!!! That was sooo CLOSE, but this time I will get past it! So, only 13.8lbs until I am under 200!

Clean clean clean

So today I spent the rest of the afternoon after I got off work cleaning the house. I cleaned the entire upstairs, the living room, and both bathrooms, but I still have a few more things to do with the kitchen and a TON of laundry to do. Thats what I'll probably end up doing tomorrow. After Vic gets home we're going to go to our friend's house and play some dungeons and dragons.

As far as food today, I had an apple and a slim fast shake for breakfast. At lunch I had half of my foot-long sub! That is amazing because I usually always eat the whole things. I also had a couple of chocolate chip cookies though. But, I can't imagine them having too many calories. I had a diet coke with lunch. For dinner I just ate a bowl of cinnamon Life cereal. I'll probably eat the remainder of my sub also. I probably went a little bit over today, but I also was moving around and was a bit more active than I usually am, so hopefully it will be OK.

Well the hubby is wanting to hang out so I'll ttyl!

Defeating Temptation

Tonight after work, we were required to attend one of the most boring meetings. The nice thing was that they provided free drinks and pizza. I defeated temptation by resisting eating the pizza and chose to drink a water rather than a soda. I am so proud of myself. I think I'm doing pretty well. I just keep telling myself whenever a bad food is around that its just going to make me gain weight and reaching my goal is going to take longer if I eat that.

Ground Turkey.. mmmm!

So for dinner this evening I made chili with ground turkey instead of ground beef. Vic even said that it was the best chili I've made yet, so I guess he likes the turkey lol. For my chili I added pinto beans, chopped red and yellow onions, and chopped fresh tomatoes, yum! As far as what I ate today, besides the chili, I had some Life cereal, a slim fast shake, and an apple. I've also had a lot of water. So I've been running to the bathroom a lot lol.

I went to the farmers' market and got another bag of those AWESOME apples. I wonder how long they'll last this time.

Hopefully we'll be playing some D&D on Monday or Tuesday with some of our friends. I'm really hoping that we'll be able to go to gbo this weekend to play with Vic's brother-in-law. I'm DMing that game and I really enjoy playing with the in-laws.

Weigh Day! and a look at the new Shape-Ups.

Well as you can see, today is weigh day! I am very excited to say that I'm down 2.4lbs!!! WOOT! So now I'm 215.2lbs. I really can't wait to get to onederland. I don't think I've weighed less than 200 since probably 8th grade. I think I will start using the tae bo tapes that I have. Its something good for days like today when its raining and I can just stay inside and do it in the living room.

I've been seeing commercials for these shoes by Sketchers.

Goals

I think I've done really well this first week. I made lots of healthier choices today. At breakfast I chose turkey bacon instead of pork, I decided not to eat the pop tart that was 200 calories per pastry, and I had apples and diet coke with my subway sandwich instead of chips and regular soda. I have also been drinking my water. I'm really hoping that will off set the water retention from Aunt Flo. She finally decided to leave today, thank goodness!

I've come up with some mini-goals for the next few months:

  • Halloween Goal: Onederland
  • Thanksgiving Goal: 192lbs
  • Christmas Goal: 184lbs
  • New Year's Goal: 182lbs
  • Valentine's Goal: 170lbs
  • Birthday Goal (March 26): 158lbs

Anyways, I accomplished my goals that I set for myself last night. I drank a ton of water today, I made it to the farmers market, obviously, and I walked/jogged with Vic today. So now I'm sitting on the couch with my hubby watching Ghost Hunters on Syfy. I love this show!

Tomorrow I plan to get some laundry done. I need to keep up with drinking my water. I also have to take Pip to his puppy class tomorrow evening. Blarg

Farmers' Market Haul...

Check out all my veggies, and the apples lol. There were so many yummy veggies at the farmers' market today. I got the squash to try and use as a substitute for pasta. I'm going to use the tomatoes and onions to make my own sauce or salsa. Victor and I already ate a couple of apples  and they were soooo good! I'll let you know after dinner how the squash is!

Too many calories, the farmers' market, and Patrick Swayze.

I added up all the calories that I ate today and I went over. :(. I ate somewher around 2200 cals today. BLAST! But I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I'm just going to keep trying. I think I may go to the local farmers' market tomorrow afternoon. Here is the produce calendar:

So according to this, I should be able to get some tomatoes, pumpkin, squash, peaches,. grapes, cucumbers, green beans, and apples. I really want to get some yellow squash to try substituting it for pasta, and I can use the tomatoes to make sauce. I may also get some pumpkin to cook because I have read that it is one of the 'good' carbs for you. I'm really glad that we have a farmers' market around here. It just seems like if you go to the grocery store and try to buy fresh veggies, they cost much more. Its like eating healthy is more expensive :(.

Today Victor and I cleaned at least half of the house. We got he living room re-arranged and I like it a lot more this way. There is still a ton of laundry that needs to be tackled though.

I think I may try to talk Vic into jogging with me tomorrow morning. I got to thinking, and if I can do 20 minutes on the eliptical without dropping dead, I could probably jog at least 1/4-1/2 of a mile without stopping.

I also just learned that Patrick Swayze died yesterday at age 57! That sucks. I loved him in Dirty Dancing!

Late night work outs!

My friend Jane and I just returned from a night time work out at our local gym. She has unlimited guest privleges so I was able to tag along. We were there for at least an hour and maybe a half. I am going to be feeling this tomorrow, that is for sure. I was amazed that I was able to do 20 straight minutes on the eliptical without stopping to catch my breath or drink some water! When I used to go to the gym before, I could barely do 10 minutes without feeling like my legs were going to fall off! After that we did a few of the weight machines and then one of the cycling bike thingys lol. I feel energized and tired at the same time. I feel very accomplished, that I was able to do all that and I don't feel like I'm going to keel over. Yayz!

Tomorrow Vic and I will be cleaning the entire house. This should be fun! It really needs to be cleaned bad. Perhaps afterward we can either go for a walk/jog or to the gym.

Internet is FINALLY back on!!! YAY

I was so bummed that I wasn't able to post for the last few days. So now I have to try and remember what happened for the past few days.

I weighed in at 217.6lbs on Friday. Off to a good start already!

On Saturday I discovered that cottage cheese is one of the most disgusting things that has ever crossed my lips. I had gotten a couple of those with the cottage cheese on one side and fruit on the other. The fruit didn't help either. YUCK!!! To make things worse, Aunt Flo decided to grace me with her presence. So I may end up gaining weight instead of losing this week :(.

I am proud of myself for a few things though. I resisted temptation when there were cupcakes and sweet biscuits at work. Usually I will help myself when someone brings in doughnuts or whatever, but I did really good!

Some other things that I have discovered over the last few days:

  • Hummus is really yummy. 
  • Raw mushrooms taste like dirt (but are ok with hummus). 
  • The sandwich thins are excellent. 
  • Tuna steaks are yummy. 
  • Resisting temptation isn't all that hard.
I also got a book at Barnes and Noble the other day by Jillian Michaels, the trainer from The Biggest Loser. So far I have found it to be very interesting/educational. She says that in order to get a proper goal, that you need to figure out a realistic goal. You start by determining your body shape. Victor helped me come to the conclusion that I am an apple shape. I store most of my weight in my upper body mostly in the belly area. She says the reason you need to realize this is that there is only so much that you can do about your shape. To attain a goal she reccomends going by your waist-to-hip ratio. The ideal for women is 0.80; I am currently at 1.03. There is also a height/weight chart if you are wanting to count pounds. For my height it says my weight should be around 150lbs which is what I was aiming for anyway.

There are some great tips for eating slow so that you know when you are full. Such as, eating with your off-hand, putting your fork down between bites, and taking a sip of water between bites.

She the goes into the 'science' behind dieting/exercise. Like figuring out how many calories you would burn if you were sedentary the entire day and how much to cut out per week to lose x amount of pounds. After calculating everything, I found that I would need to consume 9,800 calories in a week to lose 2lbs a week. It also explains how you should break them down differently each day so that your metabolism can't get used to the same thing everyday. Makes sense and sounds easy enough.

I've thought of some goals to try and acheive by the end of this month:
  • Jog 1/2 mile without stopping.
  • Lose 4 pounds.
  • Drink at least one gallon of water per day.
  • Stay away from bad foods.

Lets try this again..

I'm getting sick and tired of looking and feeling the way I do. I'm 21 and I shouldn't weigh two hundred twenty-somthing pounds. So my big, no that is an understatement, HUGE goal is to get to 150lbs. (or at least somewhere where I feel comfortable in my own skin.) After I reach that, I can decide if I want to lose more.

To the right of my blog you will find my stats and things about me. I plan on adding measurements probably tomorrow. Tomorrow will be my first weigh day. Only because I am not currently at my house and I don't have my scale. I did weigh myself on my sister-in-law's scale just now and it said 218lbs. But my normal weighing days will be Fridays as soon as I get up and go to the bathroom.

Anyway, I can't tell you how many times I've tried to start 'dieting' or lose weight. Growing up I was always overweight for as long as I can remember. I've blogged on different sites and places before, but never have they been open for all the world to see. Well that ends today. I will no longer click that little 'private' or 'diary' setting. I want people to read what I write and comment or even criticize. (Hopefully it will be constructive criticizm lol.) There are so many people out there who blog about their trials and experiences in trying to lose weight, so I know I'm not alone, even if I sometimes feel that way.

My husband has been skinny his whole life. As a matter of fact, he is actually underweight. So I can't really look to him for advice or as a weight loss buddy. I think I may try to get someone from work in on this. I don't know if anyone would go for it though. But here are some of my plans for my weight loss:

  • I have mapped out a route that I can walk (and hopefully run later on) that is in my neighborhood. According to Google Maps, it is about a 1.4 mile loop, and I live in a hilly area, so hopefully there will be some incline. I think that walking this loop once or maybe even twice if I have the time per day will be pretty good exercise to start off. 
  • I will stop being lazy when it comes to dog walking. Whenever I walk one of our three dogs, I just take them outside and wait for them to do their business. I am going to start having a set route that I can walk our dogs around our apartment complex that will give them and myself more exercise. 
  • I will take my dogs to the dog park at least once a week, for at least 30 minutes. They love to run around without having to be on a leash and I can walk the perimeter of the park while they run around and have fun.  
  • I am going to start making healthier choices when it comes to food and snacks. Instead of going for the potato chips, I'll reach for the grapes or apples. I want to try healthier foods that I was always afraid to try because I thought I wouldn't like them.. such as hummas, asparagus, cottage cheese, garbanzo beans, mushrooms, etc.
  • I am going to start eating more veggies. I have no problem eating fruit, but it seems as if I only like a small number of veggies. I will try to mix them together and cook them certain ways to make myself like them.
  • I will choose water over soda or other sugary drinks.
  • I am going to try and get my mom and possibly little sister to make a blog here and do this with me. The support and ideas will really help.
So there are some of the things I plan on doing. Please feel free to comment with suggestions, tips or ideas. They are always appreciated!

As far as what I have eaten today, it hasn't been that great for me, but I'm doing what I can, seeing as I'm at soemone else's house.

  • Bowl of frosted flakes with 2% milk (i think)
  • A few ounces of rotisserie turkey with some potato salad
  • Bbq pork sandwich and some cashews
  • A handfull of grapes
  • A few diet sodas here and there.
